McIlroy’s Learning Curve

Our heart is going out to McIlroy in the Camden Court Hotel this morning…

It had to be among one of the worst days of his life, but Rory McIlroy was still holding his head up high… more or less.

As guests gathered around the plasma screens here yesterday evening they watched the 21-year-old lead the field going into the final day at Augusta and after a nervy front nine, things fell apart at the tenth hole for the youngster from Holywood, Northern Ireland.

Now, a heartbroken McIlroy has spoken of his hope that his experience on the final day of the US Masters will help build his character in the future.

It was a very disappointing day obviously. But hopefully I’ll learn from it and come back a little stronger.

I don’t think I can put it down to anything else than part of the learning curve. Hopefully if I can get myself back into this position pretty soon I will handle it a little bit better.

It will be pretty tough for me for the next few days, but I will get over it – I will be fine. There are a lot worse things that can happen in your life. Shooting a bad score in the last round of a golf tournament is nothing in comparison to what other people go through.

We have all seen what a phenomenal player Rory is and we have no doubt he will win one some day!

Dublin by Bike…

At the Camden Court Hotel we were delighted to be the venue for the Dublin Tourism Networking Event last week. The event was a great success…well done to Dublin Tourism!

There were a number of interesting stands at the event… really giving people a fuller insight as to what entertaining activities Dublin has to offer.  

One particular stand that really caught my eye was Dublin by Bike Tours. The idea came from Ronan & Ciaran who had experienced bike tours in other countries and thought “Why not do this in Dublin?”  

Its true that the number of people travelling on activity based holidays is growing  and with the whole economy going green Dublin by Bike seem to be doing really well for themselves.

Their tours take place twice daily at 10.30am and 2pm. They provide bikes with baskets, helmets and bottled water. It costs €22 for and adult and €18 for a students & senior citizens. They can provide children’s bikes on request… making the tours something the whole family can enjoy.

A great day out for anyone really!

Everybody is talking about the Ryder Cup!

All over Ireland golf lovers are gearing themselves up for a weekend of golf, golf and more golf.

It’s even more exciting this year as it is just taking place across the water… Newport in Wales has the pleasure of hosting Ryder Cup 2010.

With team practice rounds all ready in full swing… we are all set for an exciting weekend ahead.

 

Along with a course full of incredible players our very own Padraig Harrington is among them… We are already rooting for him to get that almighty hole in one!

We will definitely have sky sports on all TV screens in our C Central Bar this weekend! Hope you all enjoy it!

Great News – Dublin Bikes Scheme to be extend!

Dublin City Council has announced that they are due to increase the capacity of it’s Dublin Bikes.  It has been a great success – already they have more than 30,000 subscribers! They are due to increase the number of bikes from 450 to 550 and four new stations which will include one at Harcourt Terrace, and one at Charlemont Mall both only minutes walk from the Camden Court Hotel
